Protesting, Atheists, and other dumb things....

Yes, there was a "day of prayer" in Georgia yesterday. Sure, it was a politically motivated stunt, because Georgia Governor Sunny Perdue has been mentioned as a possible candidate for Vice President. Yes, there was a public press conference that included prayer. However, the most shocking thing yesterday was the fact that people were protesting.

Yes, I am Satanic. Yes, I read the teachings of LaVey. However, what happened to respecting other people's religious beliefs? Tell me where that violated the Church/State clause in the Constitution. Did Gov. Perdue threaten you with jail time if you didn't pray? The answer is no. The proclamation is purely ceremonial.

Sure, I thought Gov. Perdue was a tool for what he did. I thought it was pretty stupid. However, it didn't offend me. Although, the atheists do make a great point. Yet, we non-Christians should rejoice in this display of jackassery yesterday. This shows that even the "holiest among thou" can't even follow the book they so cherish.

Matthew 6: 5-6

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

This is why it didn't offend me at all. The beloved governor can't even follow the Bible. To my fellow non-Christians...on this case, back the fuck off. Let them hang themselves.
